About Me

Who is Andy Moonsammy?

Andy MoonsammyBorn at Albion, Berbice, Guyana, I moved to Hamilton, Ontario Canada with my family at age ten (10). I have been living in Hamilton since 1993. Although I’ve been living in Hamilton for the majority of my life, my Guyanese upbringing and culture plays an important part of who I am.

While in Guyana, I attended Albion Nursery School for kindergarten, and Cropper Primary School until age 9. Upon arrival in Hamilton, I attended Prince Phillip Elementary School for Grade 5. After Prince Phillip, I moved on to Dalewood Middle School for Grades 6-7, followed by a one year stint at the now demolished Tweedsmuir Middle School for Grade 8 (in Central Hamilton). Following middle school, I attended Westdale Secondary School in West Hamilton and graduated in 2002.

In 2002, I started at McMaster University, studying Political Science and History. In November 2005, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science. Since graduating from McMaster, I have been working a Diploma in Website Design & Development, an MBA, in addition to working full time.
